1. Brewhemia

Brewhemia is a family owned café and bar located in the historic New Bohemia District of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Brothers Brad and Matt Danielson, and Steve and Andrea (Danielson) Shriver purchased Brewed Cafe in May of 2014 and at the same time changed the name to Brewhemia.

Brewhemia is a name that encompasses a focus on quality beverage while embracing the community and neighborhood of New Bohemia. They feature amazing coffee, pastries, full breakfast, and lunch as well as Iowa craft beer, local spirits, and amazing wine.

 

 

2. Catalina Café at Garages on Gaines

Catalina Café is a family owned coffee shop and restaurant that opened its doors in 2010 and has been ignited by passion ever since. Named after owner’s Maurice Moulton and Patricia Allaire’s youngest daughter, who they consider the link to making their blended family whole, the company is more than just a business—it’s an extension of themselves. 

 

 

 

3. Big Oak Cafe

The Big Oak Cafe began in 2005 as an idea to offer a place for coffee and espresso drinks while shopping at The Butcher Shoppe. It quickly turned into a cafe with a full menu that includes cold drinks, sandwiches, soups, salads, breakfast items, desserts and more. Much more than an extra stop while shopping, the Big Oak Cafe is now its own destination with seating for about 60 inside and much more outside on their porch and patio in nice weather.

 

 

 

4. Moxie Java

Moxie Java was founded by John Roberts and Chris Minion – a couple of guys who with a small obsession with great coffee. The first Moxie Java coffeehouse opened in 1988 on 6th and Main in Old Boise – before the ‘Green Mermaid’ came to town. The coffeehouse was a hit, and before you know it, Moxie Java’s were popping up everywhere in the Treasure Valley. Now Moxie Java coffeehouses stretch from Idaho to Minnesota and an outpost in South Carolina.

They source from Kickapoo because of their farmer-focused approach and commitment to sustainability. Kickapoo offers a variety of flavor profiles that can fit any mood and accommodate every kind of customer. From dark and nutty to light, bright, and fruity, Kickapoo has it all.  

Each morning you can find one of their wonderful bakers thoughtfully crafting most of their food items.
